Revelers in Kihiihi Town Council, Kanungu District, were left yearning for more during the Boona FM Akasiki Kekigutuuro on Saturday night.
The event served as the official launch party for Boona FM’s 7th anniversary celebrations, slated for July 13, 2024, in Rukungiri District, and featured a stellar lineup of local and national musicians.
Initially, the atmosphere at Rovins Gardens seemed subdued, but the vibe transformed dramatically when Western Uganda’s own Sister Charity took the stage. Her performance of “Grade” electrified the crowd, with many joining her on stage as the excitement soared.
The energy only escalated when the emcee announced the arrival of David Lutalo, the Kapapaala hitmaker. Known for his stylish designs and love songs that can mend even the most broken relationships, Lutalo captivated the audience for nearly three hours. Revelers, especially the girls, flocked to the stage to sing along with him, creating an unforgettable experience.
Attendees described the night as a total shutdown in Kihiihi, drawing not only local fans but also revelers from neighboring DRC. As the anticipation builds for the main event on July 13, 2024, at Rukungiri Main Stadium, excitement is high with confirmation that Ugandan leading artists, including the legendary Jose Chameleon, will headline the celebration.
