Police in Sheema District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the recovery of a decomposing body found with multiple bruises. The incident occurred at an unspecified date and time in Kibale Village, Kyeibanga Parish, Kitagata Sub-County, Sheema District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the discovery and identified the deceased as Amon Gumisiriza, a resident of the aforementioned address.
Tumusiime reported that the body was discovered lying under eucalyptus trees, partially covered with grass. It had multiple bruises across the entire body and was in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating that it had been at the scene for several days.
The body has been transported to Kitagata General Hospital for a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
