Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident of a 32-year-old man.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed that the accident occurred along Kyeitembe Road near the Flagship Hotel in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality.
The incident involved a motorcycle with registration number UEZ 232Z, a red Bajaj, and resulted in the death of Samuel Aryampa, a 32-year-old boda boda rider from Liberation Road, Bushenyi town.
According to reports, on July 6, 2024, at approximately 3:10 PM, Aryampa was traveling from Kyeitembe towards Bushenyi at high speed when he noticed a child crossing the road. To avoid hitting the child, he braked abruptly, causing the motorcycle to lose control. Aryampa fell into a trench and struck his head on a ditch, dying instantly.
Tumusiime stated that the body of the deceased was taken to Kitagata Hospital Mortuary in Sheema District pending a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
