A boda boda rider at Kayembe stage, identified as Muhoozi Allan, a resident of Kihanga-Ikuniiro in Buhunga Sub-county, Rukungiri District, tragically passed away after a football training session at Rukungiri Main Stadium.
According to Arinaitwe Gideon, a fellow boda boda rider and teammate from Kayembe stage, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. while Muhoozi and his teammates were training for an upcoming match between Kayembe Boda Boda and the Rukungiri Central Market football team, scheduled for the next day. After the training session, Muhoozi suddenly became unconscious, clutched his chest, and collapsed.
Gideon, who was nearby, caught him and tried to ask what was wrong, but Muhoozi could not respond. Other team members rushed to help and quickly transported him to Case Clinic in Rukungiri. Unfortunately, Muhoozi passed away 5 to 10 minutes after arriving at the clinic.
It is suspected that Muhoozi suffered a cardiac arrest, possibly caused by heat exhaustion. His body has been taken to his home to prepare for burial.
