Police in Mitooma District are hurting for suspected assailants who beat and robbed a bodaboda rider.

Marcial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the incident that happened at around 2:00 Pm in Nyamisebeya cell, Nyakatete parish, Mitooma District.

He identified the victim as Andrew Kadogo a, boda- boda rider and a resident of Kirambi Trading Centre Mitooma District.

Tumusiime further identified one of the suspects as Tusingwire Nicholas a, casual worker, and resident of Rwirara cell, Izumo Parish Mitooma District, and others still at large.

It’s alleged that on 05/9/2023, at around 2:00 PM, the above-mentioned suspect, hired the victim from his stage to take him to Kabira trading center.

On their way, at Nyamisebeya, a group of three men armed with big sticks stopped them and started beating him, the passenger (suspect) fled into the bush and the robbers ganged on the ridder and robbed him of a motorcycle registration number UEY 730 B. 

He said the victim was recovered along the road by passers-by who reported the matter to police,  Police responded and took him to the hospital in critical condition.

    It is terrible and sad , however riders must avoid working in late hours to the extent of not caring about where to go and not.
