The Bishop of Muhabura Diocese, Rt. Rev. Godfrey Mbitse, has called upon Christians in the Diocese to seize the festive season as an opportunity to open their hearts to Jesus Christ, reflect on His teachings, and promote unity among themselves.
Addressing the congregation during the Christmas service at St. Andrew’s Seseme Cathedral in Kisoro District on Christmas Day, Bishop Mbitse expressed concern about the increasing division among Christians, which has resulted in animosity and hatred. He urged them to embrace the values of Jesus, fostering harmony in their relationships.
Stressing the purpose of Jesus’ incarnation to save humanity from sins, Bishop Mbitse underscored the importance of Christians leading righteous lives consistently, emphasizing that this is the key to achieving enduring peace.
Likewise, at the mass held at St. Peter’s Gisoro Catholic Church Parish, the Kabale Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Fidelis Ndagijimana, encouraged Christians to accept the redemption offered by Jesus Christ. He urged them to surrender their hearts to Jesus, breaking free from the shackles of sin. Fr. Fidelis also highlighted the significance of embracing Jesus Christ to bring illumination to their lives and align all their activities with His divine plan.
