The Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, the Rt. Rev Dan Zoreka has encouraged Christians to forget about the challenges they faced in the past year 2022 but embrace new and great opportunities that will come with this year 2023.
Quoting from the biblical book of Joshua 1, Zoreka elaborated to the believers that they should be strong, stand firm, and trust in the Lord, because in the same way, God was with Moses, He will be with them.
He compelled the Christians to make their annual ambitions for 2023. He was quick to add that they should be Godly plans which will bring glory to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Bishop Zoreka was delivering his sermon during the New Year Service held at St. Peters Cathedral Nyakatare. He wished a prosperous year to every in the entire Diocese as well as the whole country.
Eng. Sam Kajojo, the chairman of LC5 Kanungu District urged the congregation to have a peaceful year in 2023. Chairman Kajojo lamented the increased domestic violence cases that manifested rampantly in Kanungu in the previous year of 2022. These domestic violence cases registered death accounts which he was sad about. He encouraged people to love God with their everything as well as love their neighbors as they love themselves.
During the service, several people gave thanks which included the Subdean of St. Peter’s Cathedral Nyakatare, The Very Rev. James Kabagambe, and many others.
