The Bishop of the Diocese of West Ankole, Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni, ordained six deacons and seven priests on Sunday at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Bweranyangi. He also commissioned several lay readers during the service.
In his address, Bishop Twinomujuni expressed gratitude to God for the progress made within the Diocese, highlighting ongoing projects such as Ankole Western University, Jubilee SACCO, the Katungu Mission Hospital initiative, and the renovation of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Bweranyangi.
The newly ordained deacons are Wisbon Akatuhamya, Mukundane Immaculate, Natumanya Loyce, Rutaremwa Derrick, Rwankaari Enoth, and Turyahabwe Raiton. The priests ordained include Rev. Aturinde Agrace, Rev. Matovu Simon, Rev. Mugume Grace, Rev. Mujuni Sedurack, Rev. Nahabwe Christopher, Rev. Tumwijukye Julius, and Rev. Turindwamukama Apofia.
The commissioned Lay Readers are Arinaitwe Rose, Bashaija Enoch, Kakuru Hannington, Kwikiriza Grigory, Mushemeza Godius, Mwongyera Epaphrus, Nasasira Agnes, Nuwahereza Wycliffe, Tugume Azalius, Tuhimbise Racheal, Tumusiime Modern, and Turyatemba Aron.
Bishop Twinomujuni urged the newly ordained clergy, lay readers, and all serving church ministers to remain steadfast in doing good, guide Christians to work diligently, and engage in community development initiatives to improve their livelihoods.
He also expressed his appreciation to God for His guidance and acknowledged the collective efforts of Lay Readers, priests, archdeacons, diocesan staff, the head of laity, the chancellor, synod members, and the Diocesan Council in advancing the ministry across the diocese.
