Bishop Dr. Hamlet Kabushenga has urged parents to support the Omwehereko Club to foster personal growth and academic excellence among students.

During a Primary 7 dedication service at Nyakabungo Parents Primary School, the Bishop made this call, where parents gathered to bless and encourage their children ahead of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). In a display of support, parents presented success bouquets to their children, wishing them excellence in the upcoming exams.

Enos Kwikiriza, the Executive Director of the Children’s Integrated Foundation for Community Development (CHIFCODE), also addressed the gathering, highlighting CHIFCODE’s tradition of organizing annual dedication services across schools under the Free Methodist Church. Kwikiriza emphasized that these ceremonies aim to instill discipline, hard work, and commitment to studies, supporting students in reaching their academic potential.

He also encouraged stakeholders to attract more parents to CHIFCODE-affiliated schools, which have built a strong reputation for stability and excellence. Schools under CHIFCODE’s umbrella include Nyakabungo Parents, Nyamirama Parents, Kitima Parents, Rutenga Parents, and Great Lakes Secondary and University Schools, all of which are dedicated to elevating academic standards in the region.

Bishop Kabushenga’s address emphasized the value of the Omwehereko Club, an initiative designed to build students’ personal development and cognitive skills. He called upon students to recognize and nurture their unique talents as a way to shape a promising future and make a positive impact on their communities.

Commending the efforts of Davis Boreka, the Head Teacher of Nyakabungo Parents Primary School, Bishop Kabushenga praised his commitment to high academic standards. Boreka has introduced practical activities like gardening and vegetable growing, which provide students with essential skills while contributing to their nutritional well-being. These initiatives, he noted, help create a holistic learning environment that fosters both academic success and personal growth.

The dedication service highlighted the shared vision of CHIFCODE and the Free Methodist Church to inspire students to strive for excellence and become responsible, skilled citizens prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.
