The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddi Akanjuna, has encouraged students to draw closer to God as they prepare for the upcoming national examinations.

Speaking today during a dedication service at Hornby High School, which included students from Hornby High School Junior, Rwere Primary, and Hornby High School, held in the main hall in Northern Division, Kabale Municipality, Bishop Akanjuna emphasized the importance of relying on God. He reminded the candidates that God knew them even before they were born, and by staying close to Him, their dreams can be fulfilled, as He is a miracle-working God.

The bishop urged the students to cast their fears and health concerns to God, reassuring them that He is a caring and loving God. He encouraged them to be the hope for the future, advising them to work hard, behave well, and trust in the Lord for good results. Bishop Akanjuna stressed that the students represent the future of both the nation and the church, and their dedication and hard work will help them grow into responsible leaders who can contribute to a better society.

He particularly cautioned the girls against early marriages, reminding them that they are the future mothers of the nation and urging them to take responsibility for their future. Additionally, he advised the candidates to conduct themselves well during and after the exams, emphasizing that good behavior leads to success and makes their schools proud.

Bishop Akanjuna also encouraged the students to leave a legacy in their schools by excelling in their exams.

At the same event, 26 individuals were confirmed into the Anglican faith.
