Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe of South Ankole Diocese has urged leaders to prioritize seeking salvation and being accountable in their roles for the attainment of true peace and prosperity in the country.

During his Christmas sermon at St. Matthew Cathedral Kyamate, Bishop Ahimbisibwe emphasized that leaders with a strong foundation in salvation tend to lead more effectively, exhibiting greater accountability and transparency. He expressed the belief that such leaders actively contribute to creating an environment of peace and prosperity for those they lead.

The Bishop highlighted that various societal issues, including murders, threats of terror, corruption, and social prejudices, could be eradicated through a collective commitment to seeking the Lord and salvation.

In a message conveyed to all churches by Cathedral Dean Rev. Can Cranmer Mwesigwa, Christians were encouraged to work diligently towards the prosperity of their families. Bishop Ahimbisibwe also expressed gratitude to Christians for their support in critical development initiatives undertaken by the church.

During the service, Mr. Yona Musinguzi Bikwasizehi, the Member of Parliament for Ntungamo municipality, urged church leaders to pray for the country. He expressed concern about the growing culture of corruption, noting that those who oppose this vice are often perceived as enemies of leadership.

The Christmas service at St. Matthew Cathedral Kyamate drew Christians from various backgrounds who came together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, believed to be the Son of God and the creator of heaven and earth.
