Bikurungu Town Council in Rukungiri District recently passed a budget of One hundred sixty-two million, seven hundred seventy-six thousand, nine hundred eighty-seven for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/2025, following some amendments.
According to Mayor Kajuna Wallen, the council anticipates One hundred million, five hundred nineteen thousand, three hundred thirty-seven in locally raised revenue. Additionally, they expect 4,823,436 from UDDEG, 19,801,829 from Unconditional Grant Non-Wage, and 37,632,385 from the Road Fund.
As per the report presented to the council, one million has been allocated to medication, sixteen million, two hundred one thousand to finance, and twenty-three million, nine hundred fifty thousand to statutory bodies.
Furthermore, forty-two million, four hundred ninety-two thousand, one hundred ninety-five has been allocated to Works and Technical Services, thirteen million to health, and forty-six million, two hundred eighty thousand to Management and Support Services.
Four million and five hundred thousand is earmarked for Natural Resources, five million for Community-Based Services, and four million, nine hundred seventy thousand for Internal Audit.
Mayor Kajuna Wallen has pledged to collaborate with other authorities within the town council to ensure that this budget is adhered to and effectively implemented to facilitate service delivery and development.
