The hearing for the case against Bakore Akim, a middle-aged man residing in Mabungo Cell, Masya Parish, Nyakagyeme Sub County, Rukungiri District, accused of assaulting 11-year-old Asinguza Aston, a P.4 pupil at Masya Primary School, has been adjourned by the Rukungiri Grade One Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Worship Hamida Namukasa, until the 23rd of April 2024.

The prosecution claims that on January 23, 2023, Bakore Akim used a machete to attack Asinguza Aston, leaving him critically injured.

Bakore Akim was absent from the hearing scheduled for January 23, 2024. His surety, Bajono Bakahendeka, informed the court that Bakore Akim was hospitalized at Butabika Hospital. In today’s session, Bajono Bakahendeka further informed the court that Bakore Akim is currently hospitalized at Mulago Referral Hospital.

In consideration of the accused’s need for recovery, Her Worship Hamida Namukasa has postponed the hearing until April 23, 2024.

Asimiire Apophia, the mother of the assaulted Asinguza Aston, alleges that Bakore Akim fled to hide in Kampala.
