The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna,on Sunday officially installed Ven Ernest Nkwasibwe as the Archdeacon of Muko Church of Uganda Archdeaconry in Muko Sub county, Rubanda district. The induction ceremony took place at St James Church of Uganda Archdeaconry and was marked by its vibrant atmosphere.
During the service, Bishop Akanjuna emphasized the importance of respecting religious leaders in Christian life, urging the attendees to recognize and honor their authority. He highlighted the significance of obeying their guidance, decisions, and counseling, as religious leaders serve as representatives of God. Akanjuna also emphasized the need for religious leaders to carry out their duties diligently, without letting personal feelings interfere.
The Very Reverend Obed Turihohabwe, Dean of St Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama, delivered a sermon emphasizing that a lack of respect for religious leaders can impede the development of the Church. He expressed concern about some Christians neglecting their peers after benefiting from them.
Adding her perspective, Hon Prosy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi, the Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament and Commissioner of Parliament, stressed the role of the community in shaping the morals and behavior of children. She highlighted the importance of raising children with values that contribute positively to society, emphasizing that parents and communities share the responsibility of nurturing the next generation.
