In a sacred and joyous ceremony held today at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Nyamitanga Cathedral, His Grace Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha ordained six deacons into the priesthood. The event marked a significant milestone in the spiritual journey of the ordinands, who have dedicated years to theological study, spiritual formation, and preparation for their sacred calling.
The newly ordained priests are:
- Rev. Katusiime Selenzio – Bwizibwera Parish
- Rev. Ngahamire Ambrose – Kashekuro Parish
- Rev. Nuwahereza Sabastian – Rushooka Parish
- Rev. Mubangizi Henry – Rushooka Parish
- Rev. Amanya Lawrence – Nyarushanje Parish, Kabale Diocese
- Rev. Namanya M. Justus – Kashekura Parish
During his sermon, Archbishop Bainomugisha urged the newly ordained priests to remain steadfast in their sacred duties of administering sacraments, preaching the Word of God, and providing pastoral care to the faithful. He emphasized the importance of their role as spiritual leaders within the Catholic Church and encouraged them to serve with humility, dedication, and unwavering faith.
The ordination mass was a solemn yet celebratory occasion, attended by a large gathering of clergy, family, friends, and faithful from across the archdiocese.
Following their ordination, the new priests will return to their respective home parishes to celebrate Thanksgiving Masses. These celebrations will provide an opportunity for their communities to witness their first Masses and offer blessings as they prepare to take up their pastoral assignments.
