The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has urged Christians to serve God wholeheartedly and without excuses, emphasizing that the gift of life comes from God.
He made the call today, 14th March 2026, while presiding over his farewell service and laying the foundation stone for the ongoing construction of a new church at Kasoroza Church of Uganda Archdeaconry in Nyakagyeme Sub County, Rukungiri District under the North Kigezi Diocese.
During the function, Archbishop Kaziimba also laid a memorial stone at the new church building currently under construction, which will accommodate about 3,200 congregants once completed.
The Archbishop challenged Christians who hesitate to give to God, stressing that life belongs to Him and that neglecting God’s work may result in losing His protection and guidance in life.
He further cautioned Christians against following false prophets who promise earthly wealth, urging believers instead to work hard for their well-being. He also called on the public to avoid hatred and conflicts, noting that wars undermine the peace that society deserves.
Meanwhile, the Archdeacon of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, Rev. Ronald Natuhwera, applauded Christians for their tireless efforts in mobilizing funds that enabled the church construction to reach the roofing stage within one year. He also thanked the Archbishop for establishing a lasting legacy by laying the foundation stone of the new church under construction.
