The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Most Rev. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, has officially opened the East African Revival Museum at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Rugarama in the Diocese of Kigezi, to honor and preserve the legacy of men and women who spread the gospel in the region.

Speaking at the launch, Archbishop Kaziimba said the museum contains photographs and records of the great servants of God who preached His word in the early years and have since passed away in the Diocese of Kigezi.

He noted that such people should be remembered because they left behind a strong legacy of faith and revival.

While speaking to the press, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, urged Christians and well-wishers to visit the museum and learn from the materials that have been preserved there.

He emphasized that the museum is not only a place of remembrance but also a potential tourism attraction, showcasing the work of the Holy Spirit that began in the 1930s at Rugarama Hill, the historic site of the East African Revival Convention.

Bishop Akanjuna added that the establishment of the museum will inspire today’s Christians to serve with dedication and integrity, knowing that future generations may one day look back at their own contributions to the growth of the Church.

This took place as the Diocese of Kigezi hosted thousands of believers at the 9th East African Revival Conference at Rugarama Hill in Kabale Municipality, Northern Division.
