The Ankole region media community was plunged into sorrow on Wednesday morning upon hearing the tragic passing of Arinaitwe Innocent, who had been employed at Eihwa, a Runyankore Rukiga newspaper based in Mbarara City.
Arinaitwe passed away at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, reportedly due to pneumonia, an illness he had been battling at the facility for some time.
Arinaitwe had previously worked with various media outlets in Mbarara City, including Greater African Radio and Mercy FM, before joining Good News Television (GNTV), where he served as a host for political shows. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Eihwa newspaper.
Following the news of his death, numerous media colleagues, friends, and family members expressed their condolences through various media platforms, extending their sympathy to the grieving family during this difficult time.
As of press time, details regarding the hospital’s postmortem report and funeral arrangements had not been released.
