Police in Rukungiri is investigating the circmustances under which a speeding motorcyle knocked dead a one year old child
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson says the accident occurred today at around 1530 hours at Nyaruzinga village along Rukungiri Mitoma road in Rukungiri District.
The accident that involved a motorcycle registration number UEK 157K bajaj boxer red in colour claimed the life of Abasa Michael, a 1 year old resident of Ruhububa village Ruhinda sub county Rukungiri District
Maate says one other victim sustained minor injuries.
Police was notified, visited the scene and body was conveyed to Case clinic pending postmortem.
The rider and motorcycle are still at large.
He attributed the accident to reckless riding.
