The Rukungiri district deputy resident district commissioner Ongom Wilberforce Ahimbisibwe has cautioned residents to strengthen observance of Covid 19 standard operating procedures as covid 19 cases resurface in the district.

Ahimbisibwe says some people think Covid 19 disappeared which he called wrong noting that the number of Covid 19 cases had reduced because people were vigilant and observed Covid 19 standard operating procedures which most of them have now abandoned hence the current increase of Covid 19 cases.

some people have abandoned washing their hands, wearing masks, and avoiding  crowded places which has led to the current Covid 19 cases He noted.

Ongom challenged people to re-embark on observing Covid 19 standard operating procedures

Rukungiri district which had spent over three months without registering any Covid 19 cases currently has 6 new cases
