Police in Rukungiri are holding four suspects for questioning after they were involved in a fight that led to the death of 65 year old Cleophas Bakukweshe a pit sawyer and resident of Byogo cell Bikongozo parish Nyakishenyi sub county Rukungiri district.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman has identified the four suspects are Silvano Beinomugisha, Bakeine Marshal,Fudeli Byaruhanga, and Prosper Turinomugisha all from the same village.
Maate explains that on 18/03/2023 at around 9:30 PM at Kiruhura trading center Byongo cell Bikongozo parish, Nyakishenyi sub-county in Rukungiri district, while the deceased was drinking alcohol together with Bakeine Marshal and Byaruhanga Fudeli at a bar belonging to Prosper Turinaomuhangi, Beinomugisha Silvano entered the said bar and poured their alcohol.
His action sparked a fight that resulted in the death of Cleophas Bakukweshe.
Maate says Police were informed, Inquiries were initiated at Nyakishenyi, the scene was visited, examined, and documented, suspects were arrested and the body was conveyed to Rwakabengo health center III mortuary for postmortem.
