Police in Rukungiri is holding four suspects in connection with the death of a 70-year-old resident of Buhunga subcounty
Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesman has identified the suspects in custody as Blair Ahabyoona 19, Peter Twinamatsiko 24, Hillary Muramuzi 19 and Niwenyesiga Mukama 23 all of Buhunga sub county Rukungiri district.
Maate explains that on the 20/08/ 2022 at around 6:00PM, the deceased one Kibiiri Geoffrey a resident of Kibura village,Bwanda Parish, Buhunga subcounty Rukungiri district left his home heading to Canon bar located at an approximate distance of around 200 Meters from his home to drink alcohol.
At around 11:00PM of the same day, the he returned home drunk claiming that a group of unidentified people waylaid and assaulted him on hiw way back home.
On 21/08/ 2022 at around 07:00hrs, he became ill and was rushed to a clinic at Omukagando trading center where he died.
The incident was reported at Buhunga police station and a case of murder was recorded.
Maate says the secondary scene at his home was visited and documented by the DCID/O, and team, body was taken to Rwakabengo health center III for Postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death,
