Authorities in Rubirizi District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic suicide of a 32-year-old man, the reasons for which remain unclear.

The incident occurred in Mubanda D village, Mubanda Parish, within Ryeru sub-county of Rubirizi District.

According to Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi police, the deceased has been identified as Colman Twesigye, aged 32, who worked as a salon attendant and resided at the aforementioned address.

Reports suggest that on the 25th of February 2024, at approximately 02:00 hrs, smoke was noticed emanating from the deceased’s residence. Concerned individuals went to investigate, only to discover that the door was locked from the inside.

After gaining entry, they found the deceased engulfed in flames in his sitting room. They promptly alerted the area chairman.

It was revealed that the deceased lived alone and was known to struggle with substance abuse.

The body was subsequently transferred to Rugazi Health Center IV for a postmortem examination as investigations into the matter continue.
