Police in Kanungu are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 30 year old Ester Kyomuhendo a Resident of Mukono village, Southern Ward, Buhooma Town council Kanungu district, who was allegedly murdered by one Christine Saturday 35 of the same address.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson told journalists that the incident was reported by the area chairperson Bernard Ndyenaku 60 yrs that on 14 January 2023 at around 18:30hrs, the two met and fought over a man.
Maate adds that the deceased had gone to visit the mother of the Man who was courting her but who is already married to the suspect.
Maate says that Police at Butogota police station was notified and it in-turn alerted CPS Kanungu.
The crime scene was visited by a team of detectives headed by D/Asp Dusabe Innocent the District CID Officer.
The body was taken to Bwindi community hospital pending postmortem and the suspect was arrested
