A devastating accident occurred in Kinyogo, Kitumba Sub-county along the Kabale-Katuna highway in Southwestern Uganda, Kabale district has resulted in the immediate loss of three lives and left one individual critically injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place last night around 10:00 PM. It involved a Simba Scania bus with the registration number KCG888F and a motor vehicle registered as RAF 063T.

Reports suggest that the two vehicles collided head-on in Kinyogo. The Kenyan bus was traveling from Katuna when it collided with the Rwandan motor vehicle, which was en route to Katuna.

Baguma Yahaya, the Traffic Officer in charge at Kabale Police, briefed our reporter at the crime scene. He confirmed that the accident had claimed the lives of three individuals, whose identities were not yet known, and one person was in critical condition.

Yahaya informed our reporter that the critically injured victim, whose name had yet to be determined, was promptly rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for immediate medical attention.

He further stated that all passengers on the bus were safe, and the deceased and the critically injured individual were passengers in the Rwandan motor vehicle.

Davis Muhekyi, a boda boda rider who spoke to our reporter at the scene, expressed his concern, stating that this was not the first accident to occur in this area.

At the time of reporting, a team of police officers, led by Buguma Yahaya, was examining the scene and working on retrieving the bodies.

The police had not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
