Police in Kanungu is investigating circumstances under which a 28-year-old man drowned in river Ntungwa.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Furugensi Muyambi a resident of Rwamanyonyi cell Kacinga parish Bugongi sub county Kanungu district,
Maate told journalists that the victim disappeared from his home on 19th October, 2022 at around 03:00pm, and his body was recovered from Ntungwa River on the 23th October, 2022 at around 02:15pm .
Police was notified, the scene was visited by ASP Olargiu Innocent, the OC Station Nyamirama, the body was retrieved and post-mortem done
The case of death by drowning in the river was registered at Nyamirima police station
