Police in Kanungu is investigating circumstances under which a 25 years old man was assaulted to death.
The deceased has been identified as e Brian Muhereza, a resident of Rweibare cell Kashojwa parish Rugyeyo sub-county,
Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesman says Muheereza died after a fight with Wilson Biryahwaho 42 of Kabahesi cell Kashojwa parish Rugyeyo sub county in Kanungu district.
The two are said to have fought on 23/08/2022 at around 11:00PM in a bar at Omukarere trading center for unknown reasons, though word has it that they could have fought over a barmaid.
The deceased reportedly met his death after crashing into the edge of a wall as he tried to flee
Maate says the scene was visited by responsible officers who also conveyed the body to Kataate Health Center 1V for postmortem and efforts to trace for the suspect are ongoing.
