The Past International President (PIP) of Lions Club International who doubles as the Chairperson Lions Club International Foundation Douglas Alexander hailed the Lions Club of Uganda for their committment towards serving their different Communities.
This he said while concluding his 3 day tour as he visited different projects and the service offered by District 411B Uganda. Among projects visited was the Nsambya Eye Center which is on its completion stage of construction by Lions Club International,Global Good Hope Childhood C Ward Mulago where a Cancer Pharmacy will be built.
The function was held at Imperial Royale Kampala where Minister Judith Nabakooba represented the Vice President Jessica Alupo and thanked Lions Club International for the tireless efforts in supporting the government to respond to the great need of the people.
At the same function,the President of Lions Club Rukungiri Dr Edson Muhwezi Mpirime accompanied Lion MJF Engineer Nuwamanya Hangson a member of Lions Club Rukungiri who was inducted as a Melvin Jones Fellow (MJF).
To qualify as a MJF,one must have contributed atleast $1000 towards humanitarian service. Douglas Alexander will proceed with his tour to Nairobi.
