Police in Ntungamo are investigating circumstances under which a 24-year-old University student was hacked by his father following a disagreement on selling family land.
Mr Matia Turyatunga a procurement and logistics management student at metropolitan university was cut on the head and chest by his father Denis Mugisha as he returned home on Monday night before being rescued from death by neighbors and relatives.
Turyatunga’s uncle Mr Leo Byaruhanga who is also the chairperson Kyanju II cell, Kahunga ward Eastern division in Ntungamo municipality says the victim was waylaid near his home before being cut.

Turyatunga who is admitted at Itojo hospital with deep cuts on his head and ribs is unable to speak.
The Ntungamo district police commander Ms Patience Baganizi says police are investigating the issue and looking for the suspect who is on the run.
In the same village just at the end of May, a man committed suicide after family members blocked him from selling family land accusing him of misusing family resources.
