A total of 130 students, comprising 50 males and 80 females, successfully graduated from Rukungiri Management Institute during its 10th graduation ceremony held on Saturday in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, Rukungiri District.
The event was attended by proud parents and guardians who witnessed their loved ones’ achievements.
In his remarks, Samuel Kamugisha, the Director of the Institute, congratulated the graduates and urged them to be obedient, God-fearing, and respectful as they embark on their careers. He encouraged them to appreciate employment opportunities regardless of the initial salary levels.
Kamugisha also called on parents and guardians to continue supporting their children by encouraging them to pursue both science and business courses to secure their futures and contribute to the fight against poverty.
Tugume Benon Tushabe, the academic registrar, expressed joy and pride in the milestone achieved by the institution, noting that the 130 graduates represent a significant accomplishment given the institute’s current enrollment of 260 students. He highlighted the growth seen since the COVID-19 pandemic and urged graduates to maintain exemplary conduct, including obedience and God-fearing values, as they transition into the workforce.
Among the graduates was Ampire Doreen, who received her diploma in Public Administration. She shared her excitement, emphasizing the fulfillment of her long-term goal. She encouraged current students to remain patient and determined in their academic journeys, urging them not to give up until they achieve their goals.
Another graduate, Kirabo Jovlet, who earned her diploma in Records Management, shared her inspiring story. She completed a certificate program 20 years ago and upgraded her qualifications. She admitted initially fearing the challenge but found the process easier than anticipated. Kirabo encouraged fellow students to have the passion and confidence to upgrade their education.
Byamugisha Justus, a proud parent who attended the graduation of his married daughter, Akampurira Ruth, emphasized the importance of continuous education, even for married individuals. He noted that furthering one’s studies opens opportunities for better jobs and urged couples to support each other in advancing their education, particularly encouraging women to compete for better employment opportunities.
