Youth have been urged to avoid engaging in violent political activities during the forthcoming general elections and instead vote freely for their safety and the future of the country.

The call was made on September 20, 2025, by Rev. Muntrivu NshabaRuhanga, the North Kigezi Diocesan Education Coordinator, while presiding over the farewell of outgoing prefects and the inauguration of the new student leadership body at Rwabukoba Secondary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District.

Rev. Muntrivu emphasized that leadership is a divine calling and reminded the youth to stay away from risky and chaotic situations that often result in confrontations with security forces and loss of lives.

The Head Teacher of Rwabukoba Secondary School, Sabiiti Erick, noted that the school emphasizes training and mentorship in leadership to ensure discipline and quality service among students. He urged the new student leaders to implement school rules and regulations diligently.

Rolland Karyeija, who serves both as Chairperson LC2 of Kicwamba Parish and a member of the school community, encouraged the youth to uphold unity and fight against corruption in order to nurture a generation of quality leaders.

Student leaders also shared their views, with Head Boy Medard Arinaitwe cautioning learners against joining political dialogues that may put their lives at risk, while Head Girl Shakira Ainembabazi warned fellow youth against voting for incompetent leaders in exchange for money, saying it compromises service delivery.

The ceremony also recognized academic excellence, with the best performers in the recent A-Level examinations receiving mattresses as awards.
