Residents of Omukalangara Trading Center in Kyaruyenje Parish, Buhunga Sub-county, Rukungiri District, woke up to a shocking discovery on Saturday morning—the lifeless body of a fellow resident lying along the road.
The deceased has been identified as Tusingwire Clare, a woman in her 40s from Rwebiriba Village, Kyaruyenje Parish.
Her body was found by locals heading to work early in the morning, who immediately alerted authorities at Buhunga Police Post.
The local officers responded and later called a team from Rukungiri Police Station to examine the scene.
According to residents, Clare, who was known to consume alcohol frequently, was last seen the previous night around 10 PM drinking local waragi in the same trading center.
Many suspect that excessive alcohol consumption may have led to her death, but authorities have launched investigations, including a post-mortem examination, to determine the exact cause.
More details will follow as the police continue their inquiries.
