Christians at Bizibibi Catholic Church, Rwengiri Parish, Kabale Diocese in Nyabiteete Parish, Bugangari Sub County, Rukungiri District, are frustrated after strong winds vandalized their church and are seeking support from the government and well-wishers.

According to the Christians, the church roofing was swept off by wind on Saturday, 6th September 2025, leaving them without a place to worship.

Ereuterio Musinguzi, the Catechist, expressed concern about the lack of storage space for church equipment, attributing the damage to the dilapidated state of the church infrastructure. He urged support towards the completion of the new church currently under construction.

Ustina Tushemerirwe, the Head of Laity, emphasized the financial constraints affecting the construction of the new church. She said the damage was due to the old and weakened structure and called on the community and well-wishers to support the completion of the new church.

William Kacence, the Church Treasurer, reiterated the challenge of poor income, noting that they rely solely on thanksgiving contributions. He appealed for more support to speed up the construction of the new church.

Nurse Getrude Kemigisha, a Christian and former Speaker of Bugangari Sub County, acknowledged the Christians’ struggle due to the lack of a place for worship. She said they are surviving on the power of prayer as they wait for assistance.
