The Health Department of Rukungiri District on Tuesday received a generous donation of women’s delivery equipment from USAID RHITES South Western Uganda.
The donation comprised various essential items, including 1 motorcycle, 5 delivery beds, 13 delivery sets, 3 infant weighing scales, 3 adult weighing scales, 8 thermometers, 50 mattresses, 28 one-liter bottles of sanitizers, and 2 computers, among other supplies.
The items were promptly distributed to their designated health centers, with the exception of mattresses, which were stored at the Rukungiri Health Department.
Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Rukungiri, who served as the Chief Guest at the event, expressed his appreciation to USAID RHITES South Western Uganda for their support in enhancing healthcare services in the district. He urged health workers to ensure that the recipients of the equipment derive maximum benefit from these resources.
Akasiima Mucunguzi, the Health Officer of Rukungiri District, conveyed gratitude for the timely delivery of the much-needed equipment and urged USAID officials to continue supporting the district, even after the organization concludes its activities.
