Police in Kisoro District have launched investigations into a suspected murder after an unidentified man believed to be aged between 25 and 28 years was found dead with a deep stab wound to the head.

The body was discovered in the early hours of Saturday morning, May 10, 2025, by town cleaners in Kisoro Hill Cell, Central Ward, Central Division. The cleaners promptly notified the area Local Council One Chairman, Mr. Munezero Sam, 58, who then alerted the police.

According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, the crime scene was visited and documented, statements were recorded from eyewitnesses, and the body was transferred to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

No suspects have been identified yet, and the motive behind the murder remains unclear. Police are appealing to the public to help identify the deceased.

“Anyone missing a dear one should visit Kisoro Hospital mortuary to help identify the body and facilitate a decent burial,” said ASP Maate.

Investigations into the murder are ongoing.
