Police in Mitooma District are searching for two individuals accused of murdering a 30-year-old man.
The incident occurred on December 16, 2024, at 5:00 AM in Omukiyenje Cell, Nyarubaare Parish, Kabiira Sub County, Mitooma District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the suspects as Junior Kasiime and Sunday Stuart.
The deceased, Amon Ainebyona, 30, was a resident of the area.
It is alleged that at around 5:00 AM, the deceased was heard breaking into Junior Kasiime’s house through the front door, which led the suspect to enter through the back door. Upon encountering Ainebyona, Kasiime attempted to pursue him. In the process, the deceased allegedly threw a panga and a bottle containing acid, which Kasiime picked up and used to cut him. Sunday Stuart, Kasiime’s brother, joined in the attack, and later called the local chairman, who found the victim dead.
Vincent Mugabe, 48, the chairman of Nyakihita Cell, who reported the case to the police, stated that the victim’s body showed multiple injuries.
It was confirmed that the glass of the door, which Ainebyona had allegedly broken, was shattered.
Tumusiime added that the body was taken to Kitagata Hospital Mortuary in Sheema District for a postmortem.
