Kabasoni Community Nursery and Primary School in Ruhinda Sub-county, Rukungiri District, on Friday, received a generous donation of scholastic and sports materials from Trust Tusaidiyane Uganda, a non-governmental organization aimed at boosting learning at the school.

The donated items, which included textbooks, footballs, and other materials, were provided to improve students’ engagement in both academics and sports.

Mr. Mwesigwa Brown Nasan, the headteacher of the beneficiary school, expressed his gratitude for the donation. He noted that the scholastic materials would be a great benefit to learners who have struggled to afford educational resources due to a lack of support from their parents. He also commended the organization, specifically thanking Natuhwera Vanansio Bagaterine, for delivering the items that will encourage the children to pursue education. Mr. Nasan acknowledged that Trust Tusaidiyane Uganda has supported the school on multiple occasions in various ways.

Natuhwera Vanansio Bagaterine, the Chairperson of the Parish Council for Rwamagaya Parish in Kabale Diocese, who delivered the materials on behalf of Trust Tusaidiyane Uganda, emphasized the organization’s commitment to ensuring equal access to education for children in underserved schools. Through partnerships with organizations like Trust Tusaidiyane Uganda, they aim to keep children in school, even in cases where parents do not prioritize education.

Vanansio explained that the donation of scholastic materials was in response to concerns raised by teachers regarding pupils’ lack of participation in classes due to the absence of writing and sports materials. He added that the donation aims to improve pupils’ academic performance and foster the development of their talents through sports.

He also urged the school administration to establish a school library to properly care for the donated textbooks, giving children greater opportunities to read.

Parents, led by Namara Job, the Chairperson of the Management Committee, and Joseph Zimurinda, expressed their appreciation to Natuhwera Vanansio and Trust Tusaidiyane Uganda for consistently advocating for the school. They acknowledged that this support has greatly motivated their children to pursue education.
