The territorial police in Rubanda are investigating the deaths of three individuals under mysterious circumstances. The deceased have been identified as Agaba Silver, 65, a resident of Butabonana Cell, Mengo Ward, Nshanjare Town Council; Ainembabazi Bright, 27, a resident of the same area; and Rwamahe Edward, also known as Militant, 32, from Mashaho Cell, Mengo Ward, Nshanjare Town Council.

According to police reports, Agaba Silver left his home around 26:00 hours on June 16, 2024, heading to Mengo Trading Center and did not return. His wife, Tindibakira Lydia, after waiting anxiously, alerted their son, Atuheire Marvin. The two began searching for Agaba and discovered him lying in a pool of blood near Mengo Trading Center, with multiple head injuries, around 01:00 hours. A red jumper suspected to belong to Ainembabazi Bright was found at the scene.

Atuheire Marvin promptly reported the incident to Nshanjare Police Station, registering a murder case. Central Police Station (CPS) Rubanda was notified, and a homicide team led by Detective Superintendent of Police (D/SP) Arinaiwe Frank was dispatched to the crime scene.

Before the police could arrive, locals from Butabonana, Mengo, and Mashaho villages had already lynched the two suspects, Ainembabazi Bright and his friend Rwamahe Edward alias Militant. The police have condemned this act of mob justice, urging community members to allow legal processes to handle such situations.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have stated that anyone found to have participated in the lynching will be arrested and charged accordingly.
