The body of the late Birimubusha Edward was laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Kasaana, Rugarama, Ntungamo District. Mourners were urged to strengthen their relationship with God in preparation for eternity.

Birimubusha Edward, who passed away at the age of 94, had been battling cancer since 2009.

In his address to the mourners, former Member of Parliament for Rushenyi County, Hon. Mwesigwa Rukutana, encouraged them to invest in eternity by fostering unity, love, reconciliation, and peace, acknowledging that life is beyond their control.

He urged the mourners to not only grieve but also celebrate the positive impact Birimubusha had on the community. Rukutana described him as a loving, hardworking, and peaceful man.

Rukutana also highlighted that having many children does not require marrying multiple wives. He emphasized that children are a blessing from God, noting that Birimubusha, though an only child himself, was blessed with eight children—three daughters and five sons—with his one wife.

He concluded by reminding the mourners to accept the reality of death and to stay prepared, as their survival is in God’s hands.

May the soul of the deceased rest in peace.
