Christians flocked to Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral BAAF for the grand inauguration of the Jubilee Year 2025 for Kabale Diocese, themed “Pilgrims of Hope.” The celebration brought together thousands of faithful and prominent dignitaries, including Hon. Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire, Kabale District Woman MP, and Hon. Nicholas Thaddeus Kamara, Kabale Municipality MP, among others.
The day began with the Holy Sacrifice of Mass, presided over by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Callist Rubaramira. In his homily, Bishop Rubaramira called on Christians to embrace the Jubilee as a time for spiritual renewal, reflection, and a deeper commitment to their faith. His words set the tone for a day filled with inspiration and unity.
The event also marked the conclusion of a three-day youth conference held at the cathedral grounds, where young people from across the diocese gathered to address pressing challenges and explore ways to grow spiritually and socially.
Hon. Nicholas Thaddeus Kamara delivered a heartfelt address to the youth, urging them to shun destructive vices such as gambling, drug abuse, and alcoholism. He emphasized the transformative power of education as a foundation for building responsible and productive citizens. His message deeply resonated with attendees, inspiring many to make positive changes in their lives.
The theme “Pilgrims of Hope” echoed throughout the celebrations, serving as a powerful reminder of the enduring strength of faith and hope in overcoming life’s challenges. The event was a testament to the unity and resilience of the Christian community in Kabale Diocese, marking the beginning of a year dedicated to spiritual growth and renewal.
