Police in Sheema District is holding a 43 year old  man on charges of human trafficking.

Moses Byaruhanga ,  a taxi driver was arrested by police in Sheema District with twelve children in his Ipsum  car.

Marcial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesparson said on the 15/05/ 2023 residents saw the suspect with motor vehicle registration number UAU 647M , parked next to a fuel pump in Sheema District with occupants inside. 

He said the vehicle had stayed at the fuel pump for   hours, this forced the local residents to notify the area authorities who intervened and notified police. 

Tumusiime   indentified the all the twelve victims as Jordan Akampwera  10years ,Zadock Byamukama 11years

Ebon Akampurira  9years, Philp Bingana 12years, Briton Bainomugisha10years, Henery Manzi 11years,

Alex Tayebwa 9years, Freedom Nesigamukama  11years,

Edson Turinawe  13years and  Edrick Ahumuza 12years.

Others are Miracle Nyamwiza 2years and Treasure Ampire 7years all  residents of Bugongi town council in Sheema District.

Upon questioning, the suspect  informed police that they came to hold a prayer  crusade at Bugongi cell, Bugongi town council in the Sheema district and he had picked  the  minors from the crusade ground to  just  drive them around.

The suspect had driven the victims 25 kilometers from the said crusade in  Bugongi town to Kabwohe in Sheema District and he was in close contact with a dealer in Kasese District.
