Students have been urged to remain disciplined and not despise small income-generating projects in today’s competitive job market.

These remarks were made on Thursday by the Deputy Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom, during a farewell ceremony for 2024/2025 candidates at Victory International College in Rwakabengo Ward, Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

Ahimbisibwe commended the candidates for their consistency in school, noting that not everyone manages to complete their education cycle as many drop out along the way. He reminded them that the examinations they are about to sit for will determine their future, adding that the employment world they are joining is highly competitive.

He emphasized that discipline is the key “password” to getting a job after completing school. He urged students to position themselves well, cautioning them against the tendency among youth to expect high pay immediately or demand bribes. He advised them instead to work with passion and integrity, further urging the boys to avoid early marriages after school, especially when they are not yet financially stable.

The Principal, Mr. Stanley Turyatemba, thanked God for the time they have shared with the candidates and encouraged them to prepare adequately for their final examinations. He urged them to maintain high levels of discipline, work together, and strive for excellent results.

The Managing Director of the institution, Mr. Rwenyesa Fabias, noted that the school was established in 2017 with only two students, but through God’s grace, it has grown steadily and now has 47 candidates sitting for final exams starting on 21st November 2025.

He highlighted the school’s core values of discipline, academic excellence, and God-fearing, urging the students never to despise their family backgrounds but to focus on their education, reminding them that education is the key to success.

Rwenyesa thanked the candidates for adhering to the school’s values and advised them to stay focused, avoid unnecessary excitement, and concentrate on their books. He also urged continuing students to learn from the candidates’ example and uphold the school’s reputation.

Representing the candidates, the Guild President Kemigisha Shallon thanked God for the gift of life and for providing their parents with the means to support their education. She also appreciated the school directors and lecturers for equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed for the future.

She pledged that they will remain trustworthy and serve the nation passionately using the skills they have acquired from the college.
