St. Paul’s Seminary Rushoroza in Kabale Municipality has embarked on the construction of a Shs1.52 billion two-storied multipurpose building aimed at improving its administrative and academic infrastructure.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday at the seminary premises in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality. The event was officiated by Msgr. John Vianney Sunday, the Vicar General of Kabale Diocese and Chairperson of the Seminary Advisory Board.
The construction contract has been awarded to Arch Civil Contractors and Builders Limited. Company director Mucunguzi Anatoli revealed that the project is scheduled for completion within four months. The building’s ground floor will feature 11 offices, six washrooms, and a staff room. The upper floor will include a main hall, a boardroom, and six additional washrooms.
Rev. Fr. Augustine Tumushime, Rector of St. Paul’s Seminary, welcomed the development, describing it as a long-overdue solution to the seminary’s inadequate office space and lack of an examination hall, especially in light of growing student numbers.
He noted that the new administration block will significantly enhance the seminary’s functionality and capacity.
As part of the ceremony, Msgr. John Vianney Sunday blessed the construction site with holy water. He reminded those in attendance that the progress of the seminary and other diocesan institutions is guided not merely by human effort or wisdom but by the providence of the Risen Lord.
