Byaruhanga Pauson, the lay reader of St. John’s Kajunju C.O.U, has called for cooperation and unity among residents to foster togetherness and mutual development.
Pauson made these remarks at the launch and fundraising event of the Rutabago Baturagye Group, an association dedicated to promoting unity and mutual growth among residents. He urged group members to maintain togetherness and cooperation to ensure their group’s success and differentiation from others.
Additionally, he requested the chairperson and board members to remain loyal and transparent, providing accountability to the group members and avoiding corruption, as the members had placed their trust in them.
Karamura Vana, the chairperson of the Rutabago Baturagye Group, expressed gratitude to those who supported the group financially, including local leaders and other well-wishers. Vana stated that the group’s goal is to foster cooperation, support one another in any situation, develop their families, and cultivate togetherness.
On behalf of the newly elected group leaders, he promised to exercise their leadership skills responsibly and to avoid corruption, which could undermine the group’s progress.
He also revealed that the group currently has 76 members and is still welcoming new members. He encouraged other residents to join the group to collectively work towards mutual development.
Robert Maburugi and Bindeba Moses, GISO of Ruhinda Sub County, who served as the chief guests at the group’s launch, praised those who initiated the formation of the group, noting its potential to help many residents develop their families and promote unity.
They highlighted that disagreements and corruption among group leaders have caused the downfall of many groups. Therefore, they urged the leaders of the Rutabago Baturagye Group to avoid corruption and instead generate new ideas to foster the group’s development.
They also mentioned that the Rutabago Baturagye Group is the most organized group in Ruhinda Sub County and the only one with a clear vision, which convinced them to join the group. They promised to continuously advise and financially support the group to help achieve its goals.
