Grade One magistrate court in Rukungiri presided over by her worship Hamida Namukada on Thursday remanded 4 men including a retired Rev Canon and a serving UPDF soldier accused of trespass.

The four are Retired priest Rev Canon Edidia Mugyenzi, his biological sons including a UPDF officer Muhwezi Elidard and Muhoozi Junior as well his brother Twongyeirwe Musa residents of Mironzi 3 cell, Central ward, Bikurungu Town Council, Rukungiri District.

They are accused of accessing the land of Kemigisha Emily without her consent with plans to evict her.

Kemigisha is the wife of the late Tabaruka Aggrey, a biological brother of Rev Can. Edidia Mugyenyi who died in July 2021 died.

Kemigisha Emily alleges that she was officially married to Tabaruka Aggrey in a church ceremony that was presided by Rev Can Edidia Mugyenzi but after the death of her husband, she was mistreated by Rev Edidia Mugyenzi who even reached the point of evicting her from her coffee and banana plantations.

Kemigisha Emily added that she was forced to leave her home and went to rent another house in Bikurungu Town Council after being threatened by Rev Can Edidia Mugyenzi who presided over her wedding ceremony.

The four were denied bail and further remanded until to 15th June 2023 when the state attorney will be available.
