Families have been tasked to be careful and enjoy Christmas season responsibly and be the first security of their families ahead of the Christmas Festive Season.
These were said by Ahimbisibwe Wilberforce Ongom, the Deputy RDC these in his end of year message to the people of Rukungiri district where he encouraged families not to leave their homes to enjoy Christmas but rather leave other family members home to guard the properties left at home.
Ongom encouraged parents to enjoy responsibly and spend according to their budget which will help them raise their families after Christmas and plan for their children while going back to their schools for fresh term.
Ssp. Tibakirana Musa, the District Police Commander of Rukungiri encouraged the locals to work hand in hand with their leaders and the Police in this festive season by reporting the unknown people in their areas to the authorities because of the threats of the ADF Rebels in DR Congo who are putting the security of the district and country’s security at stake.
Tibakirana encouraged the Local Council Chairpersons to organize security meetings and have security committees to assist the police in fighting criminals in their areas most especially the robbers who steal their properties.
He also encouraged parents to safe guard their children in this festive season and keep them away from the evil minded people who are ready to abduct them for sacrifices to evil beliefs.
This message comes when people are preparing for the Christmas Season celebrations and welcoming a new year 2024.
