Rukungiri district leaders have expressed their appreciation to President Museveni for reappointing Minister Jim Muhwezi as the security minister in the recent cabinet reshuffle.

Geoffrey Kyomukama, the Rukungiri district chairperson, attributed Minister Muhwezi’s reappointment to the support Rukungiri district provided to President Museveni and the NRM party in the 2021 general elections. Speaking at a press conference held at Rukungiri Inn in Eastern division, organized by Rukungiri NRM mobilizers, Kyomukama highlighted that President Museveni’s support in the 2021 elections rose to 71.4% from the 47% he received in 2016.
