An imam who also doubles as an Islamic subject teacher is on the spot for defiling and impregnating a primary six pupil at Kiborogota Primary School.
The accused is a 25-year-old Abdul Salam Imam from the Kiborogota Mosque who also teaches Islamic subjects at Kiborogota Primary School.
It is alleged that the accused Imam had recently married.
The 13-year-old victim of the aforementioned school is said to have been seduced by the suspect in May 2024 using first-term holidays, who then allegedly took her to his house and defiled her. The victim’s pregnancy is indicated by the medical report.
The police at Kebisoni Police Post were informed, and a case of defilement was opened under SD 09/8/2024.
The suspect was apprehended and is pending to be taken to the Rukungiri Police Station for additional questioning and handling.
