Rukungiri High Court presided over by Resident Judge Tom Chemtai, on Tuesday sentenced Baguma Sadam, aged 25 and a resident of Nyamunuka Kajara, Ntungamo district, to 60 years in prison.

On May 6th, 2020, Salimu and his accomplice, Ainebyoona Sadam from Kyondo Mabanga, Kebisoni, Rukungiri district, murdered Ismael Ssedembe, a 24-year-old boda boda rider from Butanda Kagarama, Ntungamo.

According to reports, Salimu and Sadam lured Ssedembe to Kebisoni under the guise of needing help transporting items to Ntungamo and Kampala. Upon his arrival, they killed him and stole his motorcycle, with registration number UEY469J.

In 2021, during their court appearance, Sadam pleaded guilty and received a 17-year prison sentence after requesting leniency. Salimu, who denied the charges, was sentenced to 60 years in prison by the Rukungiri High Court on Tuesday.

Nuriati Kyomugisha, Ssedembe’s mother, expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision, praising it for delivering justice.
