Rukungiri Grade One Magistrate Court, presided over by Hamida Namukasa on Thursday, November 2, 2023, a case involving Bahamize Annah was brought up. She was accused of torturing her 5-year-old grandson, Ashaba Isaac, and was subsequently remanded to Rukungiri Prisons until December 12, 2023, pending a trial at the high court.
Bahamize Annah, a 52-year-old resident of Kanyanga Cell in Rwentondo Ward, Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, allegedly burnt her grandson with jerrycans on October 26, 2023, with the intention of causing him harm or potentially even killing him.
Her worship, Hamida Namukasa, mentioned the case and revealed that Bahamize Annah had committed a severe offense, which goes against the Prevention and Prohibition Act of 2012, and as a result, she was remanded until December 12, 2023, when she will face trial in the high court.
